Baked Christmas Apple

• 6 medium apples, for example Elster or Jagold 

• 4 tbsp honey, choose a local one 

• 60g raisins 

• 60g almonds, sliced or chunks

• 1 tsp 5spices powder 

• 6 tsp butter


First step is to wash the apples briefly under hot water to remove any rest of wax. 

Afterwards remove the core from the apple with a apple corer. Set apples a side in a baking tray with baking paper. 

Preheat the oven to 180°C. 

In bowl mix the raisins, almonds, spices and honey and stuff each apple with a sufficient amount of the mixture. 

Top each apple with 1tsp butter. 

Bake the apples for 45 to 50 minutes. Check the progress half way in case you need to turn the baking tray for an even bake. 

After baking, let cool for 5 minutes and serve with fresh vanilla sauce.
